The new-look destination for fashion, food and lifestyle
An inspired rejuvenation has transformed an underperforming sub-regional retail centre into a thriving hub of fashion, food and lifestyle.
RetPro, a dynamic team of retail property professionals led by founder and managing director Graham Terry, has successfully given MYER Centrepoint Albury a new lease on life.
Anchored by MYER and Woolworths, the centre has become the premium shopping destination in the Albury-Wodonga region and now boasts more than 50 specialty stores, including high-calibre city brands.
The successful leasing strategy devised by RetPro attracted these operators to invest in the region, according to Mr Terry, who has more than 30 years’ industry experience.
“We convinced the owners, Pacific Group, to elevate their vision and introduce these retailers to the centre,” he said.
“The tenancy mix is now improved making MYER Centrepoint the leading fashion centre in Albury.”
Armed with strong relationships with key retailers, RetPro’s experienced leasing team worked tirelessly in the past two years to remix new brands into the centre.
Using their expertise in shopping centre management, retail leasing and retail advisory, they lifted the centre’s retail offering and reduced vacancy rates.
“We have brought new, better and exciting retailers into the centre,” Mr Terry said.
“And it’s now trading its socks off.”
Shoppers have access to multiple premium apparel brands, including Sportscraft, Universal Store, Peter Alexander and Seed.
“We have had good feedback from shoppers who have been impressed by the improved tenancy mix, one of the best in a regional area,” Mr Terry said.
Refurbishments throughout the centre have also been noticed, including the work on the toilets and parents rooms, signage, mall furniture and landscaping.
The RetPro team also managed the refreshing of multiple back-of-house areas including the loading bays.
Committing to a new longer-term lease and celebrating its 40 th anniversary, MYER has upgraded its store with a new fit-out, including improving the change rooms and customer amenities plus
installing new lighting, flooring and fixtures.
The modern and fresh layout showcases its brands and demonstrates its ongoing commitment to shoppers and the local community.
MYER Centrepoint Albury will continue to improve in all areas, including the food court which now features new operators such as Sushia, Boost Juice and Sharetea. The centre is a long-term contract for RetPro, which manages numerous shopping outlets in Australia.
